2WiMap - An Introduction

The biggest problem with map related information is the acquisition of data for the thousands of items. Especially the coordinates of every object are difficult to come by, and require extensive work by hand.

Luckily the Two Worlds' Editor lets the user dump all this data into a file, via console commands. From plants to chests 2WiMap will show all the objects, either on the world map or on a per "cell" (map subsection) basis.

Æon's RPGs is proud to present all this interesting data online.

Error fixed - News! (4/19/2008)

As probably quite a few of you kind folks out there have noticed, the 2WiMap map pages were broken and would no longer load (white, blank, page). I was *finally able to fix this.

2WiMap should now work again!

Sorry, for the inconvenience. In future, please email me immediately when you find a problem. Thanks.

Update - News! (12/24/2007)

The latest version of 2WiMap now also features:
  • The World Map image now comes in several flavors: Original (old style), Default (new style), Internal (mini-map style), and Terrain (editor landscapes).

Change the style at *any* time, via Maps menu in the Set World Map Image Style submenu. Or via new World Map Style Icon on the map image (in the top right corner).

  • All the map images have been updates to reflect the content of the full Two Worlds game. Thus all the Cave & Dungeon Zoom Images are now available!

Usage Tips

To get the most out of these maps, be sure to check the following tips:
  • The menu on the left is customizable. I.e. you can click on any main menu entry, e.g. Locations, and that menu will not only unfold but also move up to top of the main menu list.

This helps to keep the menu entries of interest at the top of the page, to avoid scrolling.

  • From the Maps main menu, the order of the main menus can be reset to the default via ^Default Menu Order or changed by a more regional ^Menu Order by Region.

  • Use ^Close all Menus to fold (close) all open menus (Maps main menu).

  • The mouse-over feature is used extensively to provide quick help / information.

  • Clicking on links, e.g. on that of a plant location marker (dot), opens a zoomed-in detail map window of the cell you selected. You can close that window at any time by clicking on the close button.

  • The detail map window also lets you scroll to any adjourning cell by use of the four scroll icons. Note a few areas are off limits.

  • Finally the detail map window provides a change image style icon that lets you use an alternate set of zoomed-in images. The default sandy images are those known from the in-game mini-map. The alternative set of "landscaped" images are colored in blues, browns, and greens.

  • All the dot markers are either red = Antaloor (on the surface) or green = Underworld (below the surface, e.g. in caves).

  • Also note that you can change the language of the map content from English to German at any time, by changing the site language.

  • Tip: The map is best viewed at a horizontal resolution of 1280x pixel (or greater). So be sure to maximize your browser's window by pressing the F11-key (works for IE and Firefox).

Have fun "spelunking" in the maps.

Æon

Credits - Special Thanks

First off I would like to thank Reality Pump for the wonderful RPG Two Worlds that lets the user access all the interesting data without having to manually take note of everything.
  • Special thanks go to Reality Pump's JacekS, who kindly provided the coordinates for all the entities shown in 2WiMap. And also for the very valuable tips and feedback. Without his help 2WiMap would be nowhere as complete as it is turning out to be.

  • Thanks go to Inside Two Worlds' Phalynx for providing access to the SDK and the Developers Corner (in their forum).

  • The main map of Antaloor is Copyright (C) 1999-2007 by ZUXXEZ Entertainment AG. It was scaled down to 1024x pixel width, and then edited by AEon (reduced size of legend, compass moved).

Note: The main map of Antaloor is quite outdated. You will notice this when you zoom in. Several islands are missing and other details have been changed since the game was released. Use the main map as "hint" and check the zoomed detail maps for exact mapping image information. The coordinate data is exact, in both the main and the detail maps!

  • Almost all the icons (shown in the detail window) and all of the zoomed (mipmap) map images are part of Two Worlds. The chest and wardrobe icons were created by AEon.

  • Finally I would very much like to thank Zuxxez and Reality Pump for supporting this project.
